A Panorama of the Sequim "Valley".   Looking South from the Seacoast near
Dungeness, Washington.   The town of Sequim is 2 miles or so to the left, out
of the picture.   15 miles to the right is Port Angeles, also not in the picture.

The valley is in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, shown in the background,
and gets only about 20" inches per year.  Similar to Southern California's rainfall.
The area is so dry, as a matter of fact, that it is necessary to irrigate the land.
The average temperature is about 10 degrees cooler than Southern Cal.
The locals call it "the banana belt".
