Sunday, June 6, 1999. Ocean Shores to Sequim, Washington
If you are Table-Challenged, here is a MAP, but this table links to more photos than the map.
A few miles from Quinalt is this long, straight, tree-lined road.
View of the Lake from Willaby Campground
We stopped here for an elegant breakfast in an old building
A campground on a desolate windy coast.
Looking South, on an overcast morning
Looking North (Trust us, there was nothing to the West)
Still overcast, this photo of Bob is a bit dark.
Looking South
Looking North
Finally, a glimpse of the Strait of San Juan de Fuca. This view is looking
a little North of East.
10 miles of dirt road like this, to get to the Trailhead.
The Makah Nation built this trail down to the bluffs.
It is truly a work of art. About a 45 minute hike.
Fairly level (at least an EVEN slope)
And filled with wooden bridges and stone stairways
It is rare to find Cape Flattery this pleasant
75 degrees. (That's Vancouver Island in the background.)
No wind
Great visibility
And wonderful company
Wow. Finally we get to our target. See? We're thinking about houses, but still
not totally swung away from a boat
